What to Expect

What to ExpectWhat will happen when I visit for the first time?

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for a while- and that’s fine with us! Come in, enjoy the service and see what Amazing Grace is about.

From the moment you pull into the parking lot, our desire is for you to feel at home. Our greeting team is available to guide you through the facilities and answer your questions. Our Welcome Center is a great space for you to learn about every aspect AGWC has to offer, as well all event information. Feel free to contact the church office at 664-8484 or email info@amazinggracewc.org if you have any other questions. The church’s office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,  8:30 am —2:30 pm.

When are services?

Connection Groups meet at 10 am for studies in the Word
Sunday Worship Service begins at 11am each Sunday.

Wednesday Intersection Classes meet at 7 pm
Wednesdays is a time for small groups, along with small groups for children, teens, young adults and adults at 7pm.

What should I wear?

We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you’re wearing. It’s not uncommon to see people wearing jeans, and a t-shirt. Others are dressy to business casual and that’s fine too! We think you’ll fit in no matter how you dress.

Where do my children go?

Children services (6 years-12 years) are held every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening above our gym in what they like to call “The Upper Room.”

Once there, your child will be “checked in” on computer. Please return to the Upper Room after the service to “check out” your child.

Greeters will be happy to assist you and your children in locating the Upper Room.

We also host a Beginning Explorers Preschool Children’s Church for ages 3-5 years, Sunday mornings and evenings during our morning and evening during the service times, as well as during our Wednesday service. The preschool is located next to the Upper Room. A nursery is available at every service for babies 6 months—2 years.

Am I expected to give in the offering?

If you are visiting with us, we don’t expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. If you consider AGWC your church home, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider giving. You can give in one of the main worship services. There will be ushers in the back and front of the sanctuary. After Pastor Keven blesses you, you may walk to the nearest usher and give. You may also give online at our website.

What is an AGWC service like?

Smiling greeters will welcome you by handing you a bulletin and Connection Card as your first walk in, then direct you to our Welcome Center for any questions you may have. Please fill out the Connection Card and place it in the offering, or save it until the end of service and personally present it to Pastor Keven who would love the opportunity to meet you and speak with you after the service.

Upon entering the sanctuary, you may sit anywhere you like.

You will soon discover that our main desire is for you to experience the life-changing presence of Jesus Christ in a creative atmosphere through music and ministry of the Word. Our music is led by our passionate and talented worship band. Our pastor, Keven Blankenship, will lead you through practical, timeless truths through enriching messages. Near the end of service there is an opportunity to respond to the things you have heard and experienced. (See selected videos of our Pastor’s sermons.)

Participation:  The worship service is a great place to learn how to pray, worship, understand the Bible, experience God’s presence, and get closer to God and to discern God’s work in our lives.  So it is common to hear people singing and praying.  Also people regularly receive prayer and encouragement from our ministry team.  As a group, we encourage everyone to experience God for themselves.  You will never be embarrassed or singled out.  Our focus is to encourage you and to reveal to you God’s unconditional love.

Why should I fill out a Connection Card?

The Connection Card is a great way for us to get to know you. We would be grateful to know you’ve visited us. There is a space on the back of the Connection Card for you to write down a prayer request. We have a prayer team that will pray over your request. You can fill out the Connection Card anytime during the service and place it in the offering bag or personally bring it to Pastor Keven after the service. He would love to meet you and interact with you on a personal level.
